What’s the Change?
It is now possible for Resellers of the Yay.com VoIP platform to email customers from their own domain name. Up until now, emails to reseller customers have originated from a generic domain name assigned during sign-up.
How Does This Benefit Our Resellers?
When reselling a service, it’s important for business that the company whose service you’re selling stays hidden. If not, you risk undermining your authority in the eyes of customers and, subsequently, losing these customers to the provider of the service you’re reselling.
There is an abundance of data indicating that customers are more receptive to correspondence when it originates from a trusted domain owned by the sender. Anecdotally, we know this to be true; just as you expect businesses to list a business phone number rather than a mobile number, or to use an official-sounding domain name, you also expect businesses to email from these official domains. When the email domain differs from the website domain, or even the company name itself, this is unexpected and can raise a customer’s guard.
What’s more, you’re not just a reseller of a service, you’re a business in your own right. You want your customers to know that they’re dealing with you first and foremost and that their good experiences should be attributed to you, not some nebulous service provider higher up the chain. The suggestion that there’s an unknown company behind your own could make customers uneasy and detract from the hard work you do every day to provide your customers with a great service.
Finally, by sending email from your own domain name you minimise the chances of being marked as spam. When chasing an unpaid invoice or sending a new customer details of an important update, the last thing you want is for emails to be missed or marked as spam.
For these reasons this update and the new ability to send email from your own domain represents a huge boost in value for Yay.com Resellers. You can now confidently communicate with your customers knowing you’re delivering a congruent brand experience through every possible medium of customer interaction.
Where Can I Purchase a Domain?
For maximum convenience, resellers can purchase, hold and manage their domains with Yay.com. This means you can manage your reseller site, your own phone system and your domains from a single online portal, making it easier than ever to handle the administrative tasks of running your business.

Tools like NS and DNS Templates make the traditionally laborious tasks of updating Nameservers and DNS records a breeze, while essentials like blazing-fast filtering and configuring with tags, labels and bulk actions are present and accounted for. You can perform bulk tasks on these filtered selections such as adding/removing privacy, locking or unlocking the domains or toggling auto-renew status.
The real value, though, comes from Yay.com’s 100% uptime, great reliability and the ease with which you can transfer domain names and/or register your domains with us. If you already own some domains of your own, you can transfer them to Yay.com for maximum convenience or, if you need new domains, you can purchase them directly from us and, in the process, take advantage of our truly excellent domain names pricing.
How To Update Email Settings
For existing Yay.com Resellers, updating your Email details is a quick and simple process. Here are the steps.
You’ll change this in the Settings for your Reseller store. If you have multiple stores with different domains, you can set up a different ‘send from’ email for each one.
- Head to the Reseller section of the Yay.com Dashboard.
- My Stores → Settings (cog icon)
- Email Settings
You’ll see two radio buttons at the top of the page. If you wish to continue corresponding with your customers from ‘no-reply@voipcp.com’, this is still an option. To send emails from your own domain name, follow the instructions at the top of the page to configure your domain’s DNS zone correctly.
- With these steps, your Reseller store can be set up to correspond with customers from your own domain name in mere minutes.
How To Host Your VoIP Reseller Store At Your Own Domain
If you’ve purchased a new domain and want to link it to your store, do this from the Site Settings tab next to Email Settings. In much the same way, you’ll just update your DNS records with your domain host and your VoIP Reseller store will be hosted at your new domain.
