What are all the ways I can deploy the Yay.com desktop app?

There are many ways to deploy the Yay.com Desktop App. This article aims to be exhaustive, so please feel free to see what looks easiest for you and follow that method. For the quickest deployment option, please have a look at this FAQ on basic deployment.

 

If you intend on using the mobile softphone apps as well, it is best to invite your colleagues via the Apps page of your Yay.com Account Dashboard. Here you can invite each User using their mobile number, which will link the User to any app instance going forward. You also have the option of giving out a Company Code to your staff, but this will change every week. The Company Code will only be needed for the initial User to app linking and won't be needed each time you need to access the app.



Alternatively, you can set up each one of your colleagues to be a Member. If you created the account, you will be a Member by default. You will need a Member login to use the web browser version of the softphone app.

Option 1: In-Browser Desktop App

 

To begin, navigate to the Dashboard, using your Member login. Click the number pad icon in the top right corner of the screen pictured below.

 

 

On the User selection page, pick your extension. If you only have one User, skip this step.

 

 

You will now be able to make and take calls from your web browser.

 

 

Option 2: Standalone Desktop App

 

To begin, navigate to the Downloads page, scroll down, and select your OS from the screen below.

 

 

Option 2a: Login as a Member

 

Click the 'Log in as a Member' hyperlink shown below.

 

 

On the following page, you have several options. You can use the Company Code which can be found on the Apps page of your Yay.com Account Dashboard, or alternatively use the same method you use to log in to the Dashboard: Google SSO, Azure SSO, or Username and password.

 

 

Option 2b: Login with your mobile

 

Enter your mobile number and press Next. Please note, if you have purchased a mobile number with Yay.com, ensure that the mobile number you enter at this stage is the one already associated with your smartphone, and not your newly purchased Yay.com number.

 

 

Enter the code that you receive via SMS. If you don't receive a text message, please feel free to reach out to our Support Team for assistance.

 

 

Option 2c: Login via QR Code

 

If you already have the Yay.com App installed on your phone, you'll want to go to More > Settings > Account > My Devices > Link a Device. Once you've done this, simply scan the QR code on your screen.
