First, you want to go to Settings on the left-hand side and open the chat settings. The under 'My Message ID' you want to select an SMS ID. Do note that you will need to have a UK mobile number on your account and alternative caller IDs added to the account will not work for this!
Once you have selected the SMS ID you are going to send messages from your just need to find the contact that you wish to message under the 'Calls' tab and click on it. Then, once the contact has been selected you just need to click the 'SMS' button and it will begin an SMS chat with the contact.
Once you have created an SMS chat you can then find it under the 'Message' tab.
A step-by-step on this can be seen below:
First, you just need to set your Message ID which you can do by going to Settings > Chat > My Message ID.
Click on the contact and then click SMS
This then opens a chat with the mobile number that you can find in the Chat tab of the desktop app.
